On January 21, 2021, the online launching event of the project took place in Yerevan, participated by the Rector of ASUE Diana Galoyan, director of AMBERD Research Center David Hakhverdyan, Head of the engineering and technological department of Center for the Advancement of Natural Discoveries using Light Emission (CANDLE) Vladimir Dekhtiarov, founding director of the organization “Haterk Food” Samvel Mirzakhanyan, employees of the ASUE International Relations Division headed by Sona Matinyan, representatives of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports and the RA Ministry of High Technologies Industry, as well as representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, research institutes and academic circles interested in issues in this area.
The meeting was opened by a brief presentation on the project and passed the floor to ASUE Rector Diana Galoyan. The head of the university greeted the participants, then mentioned that 2020 was a difficult year, which had a negative impact both on Armenia and on the university. ASUE Rector mentioned: "I think the project is important for Armenia because it aims to promote a culture of enterprise-research infrastructure cooperation based on the successful experience of V4 countries. This is especially important in the post-war period in Armenia, as within the framework of the project it will be possible to raise awareness of Armenian SMEs and research institutes in implementing joint technology programs, expand and strengthen the knowledge and skills of relevant employees in technology transfer, etc.,".
Vladimir Dekhtiarov, Head of the Engineering and Technology Department of the CANDLE Institute for Synchrotron Research, greeted the participants and expressed hope that the project goals would be achieved, in particular, the improvement of Armenia's research infrastructure.
Then the speakers made presentations on the project. Davit Hakhverdyan, Director of the AMBERD Research Center, presented the project's purpose, the impact for the beneficiaries, Arpine Jraghatspanyan, Chief Specialist of the International Relations Department, presented the project activities and timeline, Samvel Mirzakhanyan, representative of “Haterk food” enterprise spoke about the needs and expectations of the SMEs connected with the collaboration with the research institutions and academic centers, made suggestions for the project expected results.
The speakers answered the questions of the attendees, an active discussion was held. The attendees were informed that they will be notified about the project's next steps and events.
The project is co-financed by the Governments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
